Gary Reents 1973Reents Bros. Racing started in 1970 with Gary Reents driving a 1955 Chevy at Viking Speedway in Alexandria, MN in addition to racing at Centre Raceway in Sauk Centre, MN. It did not take long for Gary to become a fan favorite at the track. The 55 Chevy Stock Car was ran for 3 years.
In 1973, Gary began racing a 1963 Nova which he ran for 2 years. The following year Gary raced a 1965 Chevelle he purchased from Wayne Kluver. During the years of 1976 and 1977 the team raced a 1970 Camaro.
Gary purchased a Late Model from Affordable in 1978 and ran the car through 1984. The car had to be converted to a Limited Late Model in 1983.

Gary Reents 1987Gary's Modified days began in 1985 with the purchase of an Affordable Modified. The Reents crew debuted the new car 4th of July Weekend that year and ran the same car on dirt through 1991. Gary then ran the Modified on asphalt from 1992 through 1995.
In 1997, Jessie Reents raced at I-94 Raceway in Sauk Centre, MN. The following year Kyle Reents began driving and spent 3 years on asphalt before moving to Viking Speedway in 2001 to race in the Midwest Modified Division. Kyle currently races Midwest Modifieds in Alexandria.

Scott Searcy 1996Black Gold Racing started in 1996, with Scott Searcy driving for the team. The first car was a Pure Stock that was run at Viking Speedway. The main sponsor was the Radio Station 94.3 FM which aired the "Speedway Show" by Jason Dale.
In 1997, the team built a new car and changed the number to 15. The number was choosen because the crew was a big fan of Kenny Bullick a former driver in the Sportsman Division at Viking Speedway. The first race in the new car was exciting for the team as Scott won the feature.

Daryl Harth 2000Jason Searcy built a U-Car to run on asphalt in 1997 and continued to race in 1998. Jason also chose to use the #15 and everyone enjoyed tailgating in Sauk Centre during those years.
During 1998 and 1999, Scott took a break from driving and the crew worked on a couple of different teams.
Daryl Harth had a great season in 2000 with his Black Gold Powered Pure Stock. Daryl fell just a few points short of winning the championship.
In 2001, Scott Searcy returned to the team to race in the Street Stock Division and a car was built at Brooten Auto.

Gary Reents 2004Gary Reents joined the team in 2002, after Scott moved to WI. A new Street Stock was built and Gary captured the Rookie of the Year Award, being he had never raced in that division before.
In 2003, Gary Reents and the Black Gold Racing Team won the Street Stock Championship at Viking Speedway. It was an exciting end of the season as the team also took home the Wissota 100 Title.
A new Super Stock was built in 2004, and the team decided to return Gary to his familiar red, white, and blue #1. Gary again captured the Rookie of the Year Award in the new class.
In 2005, Reents Bros. and Black Gold Racing will continue their partnership.
